FPW, Batch #1 - okay, tee-hee......this
one came from an interview Alexei did a while back in Russia with a Russian
female reporter who asked him which he preferred, Russian girls or foreign
girls. His response was something along the lines that he preferred Russian
girls because they were all incomparably beautiful (
), whereas foreign girls seemed to be batch produced by factories. Well, we
foreign girls took umbrage
, and so some of us started referring to ourselves as factory plant women. I
decided I was from Batch #1, LOL....Brenda made several of us some T-shirts
with the FPW insignia on them, which we were going to wear at Skate America,
but he was so sweet to us that we chickened out, or at least I did.
Haven't seen the others wear theirs around him, either...
The new, more diplomatic Alexei probably wouldn't have the same answer these
days, even in Russia with a Russian female reporter. This stuff always ends
up on the net...
And having seen Alexei flirt equally with Russian girls and
"foreign" girls, I didn't take his comments all that
seriously....... after the initial reaction...

Thread drift - Well, once you've spent enough time on
the board, you'll find that the thread titles don't often match the most
recent subject of discussion, LOL. Take the original keepership
thread: (which I highly recommend, it's a hoot!) it began as a serious skating topic on
landings; the title had something to do with Dick Button and his knowledge
of skating, but digressed into board members fighting over Alexei's
body parts...Thus whoever dares to search in the archives (the EZBoard
search feature never works..) is always wished good luck, LOL...
-
Passion - the word we always use for Alexei's skating,
LOL...
-
La-la land - a board member's state-of-mind after
meeting or seeing Alexei skate live...it's too much sometimes...
-
Project policy - sometimes we ardent fans come up with
some crazy ideas for projects, and it's Laurie's policy to have the project
carried out by the person who thought it up. In this way, we have had an
annual Worlds bouquet, a competition banner, two Alexei calendars, a button
project, a fan postcard collection, and Laurie just gave Alexei a photo
album of his fans at Europeans!

- Decorum judge and gavels - Being one of the
younger members of the board (at 17), I often felt the urge to keep
things clean...or at least decent! Whenever someone made a naughty
("undecorous") comment, I would make it known, LOL. Laurie
came up with the term "decorum judge" but the gavels were
nonexistent until we found a webpage
of
creative emoticons and I found one that banged a judge's
gavel:
So now when I want to make it known that a particular
individual has made a naughty comment, out come the gavels! LOL we
consider it an initiation ritual; you aren't officially part of the
board until you're gaveled by me! So what deserves a few gavels
anyway? Well, commenting on this
photo (as Laurie did, LOL) certainly deserves a few...

- Being "resident vampire" - My user
title came from my chat days, when I used to stay online till 5 or 6 am,
living on US time, LOL... After a while people were convinced that I
only had a night life and was sleeping in a coffin
I'm not! I'm not!
Although I can sleep anywhere.... But a coffin wouldn't be on the top of
my list
What probably reinforced the general feeling that I am unhuman, was the
fact that I threatened to bite people if they messed with my keeperships
Not to mention Laurie's comment "fangs out" after one of my
said threats
But it still remains a mystery to me how I became a "fruit"
bat
It probably served only to make me seem nice and harmless to our new
members
- Frozen Anna - with our much-used references to
"clod drinks,"
we decided that we needed an official board drink for competitions or
watching Alexei tapes, etc. So, reminded of Anna's adventures at Russian
Nationals this year (despite being Greek and not being able to speak the
language, LOL..) we decided on the name "Frozen Anna." It's
made up of vodka, banana, orange juice - non-alcoholic version omits the
vodka, of course (for responsible teens like me, LOL). For those without
a banana handy, banana liqueur will do in a pinch. This drink is blended
with crushed ice.

Voidy (from FSU)
= brain fog...LOL. The type you get when attending a live skating
show, especially one in which Alexei skates. Super especially when he
takes off his shirt...then everything becomes super *voidy* or simply
everything else surrounding you ceases to exist. You can see Alexei
skating...but it's all happening far away...and slowly...like in a
dream or something...and it makes perfect sense, since it's all those
natural drugs kicking in & then you're like in a dream state.
So...voidy equals> dream state of mind, also used to be known as
"being in the moon", or "on another planet". My
mom used to complain a lot about me being in the moon when I was
little. Guess some things never change
Voidy is great
It can keep you from "feeling" stressed out, which is one of
nature's way of dealing with stress on different occasions. So then,
the body releases the necessary hormones and simultaneously the body
goes into R&R....as in rest & relaxation,
and therefore, provides a natural relief from the stress. Of course
some people use chemical drugs to compensate for the lack of such
hormones, but Alexei made sure we would be provided with a lifetime
natural supply just by looking at him skate
Thus one more of the beneficial effects that Alexei has on some of
us....and I won't name names...LOL...but I would assume lots of us has
experienced this when it comes to Alexei and/or other skaters...but
perhaps not so intensely as when it's Alexei. Must be a mix of all
those energy vibes he sends out plus our response to these vibes and
the "visual" context of it all
Hey...it's only natural...why try to knock it when you can enjoy it
One more thing...voidy can also happen when one is feeling
confuged...LOL...as
in confused when one's mind refuses to deal with a certain
issue...thus providing again relief from the stress of dealing with
said issue which would be too troublesome or simply stressful...so voidy
is very helpful indeed. I wish I could be permanently voidy...but it
would be hard to work...LOL...although I've been caught at work being
voidy ( too stressful) and the impression it leaves is not too
good...to say the least
So I would try to avoid being voidy at work.
One can also become voidy when one is scared...cause fear is a form of
stress or high anxiety. It helps one to cope with these feelings. In
other words...it's sort of a neurological coping tool and responds
accordingly with one's releases of natural hormones.
Why is it that i'm getting the feeling that I'm overexplaining this
issue...LOL.
Must be the planet Saturn that's affecting me these days
-
Big space at the end of posts - this is how we
know Ina is excited, LOL...sometimes Laurie has to delete them so the
thread won't take too long to load...
-
Keeperships - like MKGA,
we take (or make up, LOL) certain Alexei attributes and qualities and
strive to guard over them with the utmost of vigilance, not to mention
viciously attack anyone who threatens them....well not viciously,
but you get my point...
This term came up from a thread about Dick Button being
picky on Alexei's low landing positions and then talk turned to Alexei's
"thud."
Ina proclaimed herself the "keeper" of Alexei's thud, and
soon Laurie declared "open season on the rest of him,"
taking Alexei' s thighs in the process. At
first everyone went for the body parts, but after those were doled
out, people started grabbing programs and miscellaneous possessions
and attributes. (I'm proud to say that I took his cute fuzzy dog
first!) If you want a keepership, declare it on the board and
"Tsarina" Seana will see if it's taken and put it on the
official keepership
page!
